I can remember the smell of the racing fuel in the air mixed of course with the ocean, as we entered the track. The sounds to me were music, as my heart raced from the anxiety of it all. Lions Drag Strip was where the legacy began. You get some idea of what Saturday night at Lions and Irwindale was like.
